About The Unchained Pharmacist

I’m Sheriden Franks, PharmD, CPC — also known as The Unchained Pharmacist™. I started this movement because I saw two groups of people suffering inside the healthcare system: Patients who walk into healthcare confused, overwhelmed, and unsure who to trust. And pharmacists who are burned out, underpaid, overworked, and treated as if their training and compassion no longer matter. Both sides are chained. Patients are chained by complexity, rising costs, and a system that often feels impossible to navigate. Pharmacists are chained by corporate pressure, unrealistic workloads, and environments that make it difficult to deliver the care they were trained to provide. Both sides deserve better. And it became clear to me that something had to change. The Unchained Pharmacist exists to help restore clarity, access, and purpose within healthcare for both the people receiving care and the professionals providing it.
